Home of All Nations

Community Assisting Schools (CAS) proudly supports The Home of All Nations by providing food and fresh produce on a monthly basis, helping to sustain their efforts in feeding and caring for those in need.

The Home of All Nations is a charity run by Albert Tshitavha, who worked as a security guard at H.A. Jack Primary School
for many years before being retrenched during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the years, CAS developed a close relationship with Albert, often helping his family by covering the costs of his children’s stationery.

When Albert appealed to Nicky for a R7, 000 loan to start a weed-killing business, we were uncertain of the outcome
but wanted to support him. To our amazement, Albert contacted us not long after to share that his business was thriving. He managed to purchase two motorbikes, which he loaded onto the Mr. Delivery app, creating additional income streams.

Amid his growing success, Albert’s compassion shone through. He began helping homeless people in Orange Grove, providing meals out of his own pocket. Over time, the number of individuals he supported grew, and every night, Albert and his wife prepared balanced meals for 75 homeless people

The Tshitavha family

The Tshitavha family has become a beacon of hope in Orange Grove, restoring dignity to those they feed. On Mandela Day, CAS packed toiletry packs for The Home of All Nations and had the privilege of joining Albert to distribute them. It was an incredibly moving experience, as we heard heartbreaking stories from individuals of all walks of life—children, pensioners, and adults of every color and creed—who had lost their way and struggled to rebuild their lives.

Albert reminds us of Mother Teresa in his devotion to serving the destitute. He is deeply moved by their suffering, often
brought to tears when food runs out. His unwavering commitment has earned him support from food brands and
restaurants in the Norwood area, who regularly donate to his initiative. He even secured permission from a BP garage to use its car park as a feeding site every evening.

Albert’s dedication inspired us to commit to supporting The Home of All Nations on a monthly basis. The Tshitavha family’s work is a testament to the power of love, kindness, and initiative, and we are honored to contribute to their meaningful
mission.
